Shefford Lower is a very happy and busy school community where each child is regarded as an individual. Our dedicated team of staff are committed to helping all our children achieve their potential within a caring and inclusive environment in which pupils learn effectively and develop their skills. It is during these formative early years that your child will begin to develop values and judgements. Our school ethos teaches children to value and respect all people and the world we live in.

Our pastoral care programme promotes our school ethos of respect for all people and our environment. Members of staff lead by example, by their actions and communications with each other and with children. Children are encouraged to develop empathy and understanding towards others and to accept responsibility for their actions.

All members of staff are sensitive to the needs of children within this age group and are patient and understanding when helping to resolve any worries. Good relationships are quickly established between the class teacher and pupils, something that is vital in providing and continuing to provide the happy, lively and caring atmosphere which exists at Shefford Lower School.

Our school's warm and friendly environment ensures that the children in our care have the very best basis from which they are able to succeed academically and in a wide variety of other areas both in and out of school.

We hope you will endeavour to establish a close relationship with the school through myself and the class teacher as well as through attending and supporting school events. It is encouraging and motivating for children to see evidence of this link between home and school.
